Barn Manager & Resident Lesson Instructor (Trade Position)

🐴 Preferred Qualifications

Equine Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years horse care and barn management experience
• Experience with daily feeding, watering, turnout, and basic horse health monitoring
• Ability to recognize lameness, illness, or behavioral changes in horses
• Comfortable handling horses of different temperaments and abilities

Instruction / Training

• Experience teaching riding lessons to all riders abilities
• Ability to develop and manage a lesson program
• Experience working with children
• Experience with adaptive or therapeutic riding is a plus (but not required)

Barn Management Skills

• Experience coordinating veterinarian, farrier, and other health care schedules
• Ability to maintain organized records and communication
• Comfortable managing seasonal programs and horse scheduling

Professional Qualities

• Reliable, organized, and self-motivated
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a nonprofit program, volunteers, and families
• Commitment to safe horsemanship practices
• Flexible with schedule and creative teaching

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs, handle feed and equipment
• Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons

Nice but Optional

• PATH Intl. certification or interest in becoming certified
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Experience with therapeutic or adaptive riding programs
